Why would you need an optocoupler for the midi-out port? The full schematic does use one for the midi-in port but this specific schematic is edited and shows only the needed parts for the midi out port

Another great XT build!!! It seems the older we get the older machines we enjoy... I too did not have XT experience in my youth, only 286 and upwards 😀 I like that 8bit vga, never saw a CHIPS one before... What are you thinking about sound? AdLib? SB?

You can even build a simple midi-out adapter yourself with a 74LS00 ic, here is a schematic: it is enough to get sound out of DOS games as the only thing you need is the midi-out from the DB15 joystick port.

^ yes, it seems they are CPS3 modules , they are not even RAM - they are roms with the game data.

Hmmm... Try and clean the isa connector with some IPA and a pencil eraser , maybe the problem is bad contact with the isa slot

Had one in the past, didn't need anything special to work - much like an AdLib card. You plug it in and it just works...

I want to make or buy a CGA (RGBi) to SCART to use on my Schneider Euro PC. Anybody that sell these? If Not where can i buy the components needed? Any kit available? I don't know if someone sells any kits/premade adapters but it's not that hard to make one for yourself , the parts are easy/common …
