Same here, if there are no audio tracks then fakecd/fakedr is what I use under DOS. Win9x is easier with Daemon Tools. That's what I use...

that WDC vga is a fast one , nice catch! It has some interesting utils that let you chose mda/cga/ega modes , it reboots your pc and the card acts according to your choice.

I asked once why AMI had such awful color schemes in their old BIOSes , someone replied they made that like that so they would look good on monochrome monitors. This actually makes sense for many old software with crazy color schemes as back then most people had mono monitors...

I don't know if this software version has PART-A and PART-B midi outputs like the real SC-8820 (no idea if this applies to this software version of it) but on a real SC-8820 if you chose to output from PART-B output then it is always at 8820 mode, 55/88/88pro maps that you set with the hardware …

That schematic you found is for a single/dual UART-mode mpu interface , just like the one on SB cards - as far as I can tell. It lacks the "roland intelligent mode" features but I assume SEQ+GOLD doesn't care about them... I do have 2 MPUs here so I can test whatever you want provided you describe …
