can you remove the daughterboards from the soundcard and post photos? it will help see what they really are... just pull them, they are not locked and you won't break anything. maybe the issue is the terradrive itself, maybe it has a hardware difference or something when it comes to speaker and only works "compatible" when something else properly initializes it (outrun for example)

yep, I already tested softmpu , it did not work with the roland mpu... infact I had to enable the SB mpu in order for softmpu to work at all... sb was port #300 and roland #330 , ofcourse I gave 330 on the softmpu command ... it seems it's tied to the sb somehow. Gods gave the error even with the / …

serial usage seems a nice and unique feature... and no need for a soundcard at all 🤣 is there any chance that softmpu could be used in the future with a real mpu in order to prevent the mt-32 buffer errors?

I wouldn't take the reviews of the era so seriously regarding compatibility. They were focused in recent stuff of their time, noone would test Commander Keen on a 1995 VGA and report it did not have good compatibility. Likewise noone tests recent videocards with older titles to report any problems. …
