^ that hybrid system looks like one I had in the past, it has a 486slc/66mhz from IBM (IIRC) and it's pretty fast just make sure it has the max of 64kb cache installed as it will give a huge boost to the system it's a nice weird mobo, lucky!

Got from a source Amibcp 6.24 - word is it can open 1994/5/6+ 486 and p1 bios files maybe someone will find it useful 😀

@smsdave correct me if I am wrong but from the pic I see the right-most pin connecting to R27 and then D7 (that is a charging blocking diode) so if this is truly the case then the right-most pin is the (+) side since you have a multimeter it's easy to find the (-) pin since it's ground: so pick a …

I had no idea "CL5428 scam" was a thing... wow! atleast Zalog you got the memory boost and full 1MB support which is more important than gui acceleration features IMHO since the system is a bottleneck anyways [...] My electronics skills are very rusty; I'm hoping to attach an external battery pack …

Thanks for that extra info Dioxaz. So basically #FLUSH pin on cpu is cut, and the pad goes to pin22 of the Keyboard controller. I wonder why is that... I am tempted now to attempt upgrade on a spare 386sx mobo since we have the missing BIOS thanks to you 😀

hey Dioxaz! thanks for the BIOS and pics!!!! do you have any idea what this patch wire does? was the mobo repaired or this is needed for the 486slc to work? turns out the mega-pc crowd is plentiful 🤣

OK I just tested - the same thing happens with the plantronics driver: on 1st screen that is special and scrolls the plantronics version does the same as the 1512 one: it waits for ever and crashes/freezes the system...

very interesting info Zalog about the 386sx board with a 486slc cpu... too bad we can't locate the correct bios - most likely the only change is the activation of the 1kb of cache 🤣

I was remembering wrong, it's the Space Quest 1 sci remake that has issues with text boxes and colors in them: and this is what it is supposed to look like: it's a shame since everything else displays OK - slow but OK...

Since you're testing quite a few games now... How would you describe the speed of the VDU mode? Can it compete with the MCGA mode in an otherwise similarly equipped machine? oh wow I completely missed your posts! speed is very bad. the 1512 VDU is very slow , it's almost horrible LOL I would say …
