Can anyone suggest a couple of XT games that can be used to test sb/adlib ? Chuck(G) uses an XT so we need something that runs on it (already trying with paku paku) but a couple more would be nice, personally I don't have any XT-only experiences....

well in my 386 it runs at 10-12fps , personally I find this unbearable ... back in the day I bet I would play it but now there is no way

@feipoa: I have posted a couple of screens in the thread were I ask help to setup the machine: http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?t=32072 , the cpu scores 9.30 and because I had problems (related to 0ws on vram that was a no-go) I did test the 2nd mobo too and got the same score... sadly I don't …

yes a few hours would be perfect, sometimes I just leave the DOS pcs waiting and do transfers with huge delays between them... not that reconnecting is a problem as it's done automatically but yeah a few hours will be awesome 😀

not really an idea, but can you add to the ftp server to not have a timeout for iddle connections? IIRC the largest value is 1500? I like the setup/diagnostics ideas, they will make the package look more professional :) Can't wait for the next version! I can't believe how I was managing without mTCP …

I did run AITD1 but was disappointed since it was crawling. It felt like a 286 running it... (but that could be because a. the 6400 "vga" sucks and b. there is no L2 cache module installed and I am waiting for one...) The gfx were higher res allright but I did not see an option to make the game run …

As topic, I can chose between these 2 SB Pro2 cards: Close-up older card Close-up newer card both have 3.02 DSP as it is marked on the chip... is there any reason to chose one over the other? thanks! 😊

Well both the mobos pictured here have the option in BIOS to enable L1 cache (ofcourse it only makes sense on the one with the cpu socket) but I have no 486 upgrade chip to test. What I have is a 486slc2 installed in my PS1/pro , without the cache I get similar speed as the onboard 386sx/20 , but …

All of the 3 Alone in the Dark games for Mac run in SVGA mode, compared to the PC standard VGA mode and have better midi music. The CD versions have the whole scenery remastered for this higher resolution to look even better. Terminal Velocity for Mac runs up to 1024x768 against 640x480 for the PC. …

so the 486DLC gets a 10.15? doesn't seem much of an improvement over the 9.31 I get with a 386DX/40 (both mobos get the same cpu score btw) or is this shot taken without the L1 cache enabled?

I did more tests today.... apparently the ram chips were not to blame because Checkit fails with every ram I tried... I even tried the 2nd 386DX mobo and had the same failure. I assume that checkit it does not like DOS7.1 ... The AITD gfx corruption was because I had 0WS enabled in the VGA VRAM. I …
