Well, the CL cards without 0WS have choppy framerate even in Wolfenstein3D ... IMHO it does not worth having them if you can't have 0WS. That WD card is OK and has the same speed, seems almost unbelievable....

Could it be that both CL cards I have are "too new" for the build? They are 1MB 5428 and 5429 ones. Different makers and both have the same problem with 0WS enabled. It appears 0WS in vga is causing problems for me... In simcity2000 I can see pixel errors and freeze on demo city load... disable 0WS and it works fine... Also tried playing with mobo ram/cache waitstates, made no difference at all.

@Mau1wurf1977 you mean those 5.25" HDD cases? most cheap ones I've seen on other people's pcs are somewhat crap... and I've also seen dead hdds because of these cases... just be sure yours are good made ones 😀 @Markk: thanks! you know what took the most time to find? the babyAT case! 🤣

yeah a programmer is very handy, I have a willem3 one but unfortunately it does not support GAL/PAL chips :x but for eproms it's just awesome!

yes I did some reading and understood that for some mids I needs to send the sysex before playback... I was under the impression sai sysex was embedded but apparently that's not always the case ... thanks!

extra file with sysex? nope, I wa under the impression sysex is embedded on the midi file? care to elaborate more on this? I do try on a pc with a LAPC-I and midis play through it btw.

you haven't responded to this: You just need to make sure that the SySex information is included in the mid file. or you have extra file with sysex. gs/mfplay plays mt32 midis perfectly. well, I got Monkey Island and SQ3 theme song midis from Quest Studios (for mt32 ofcourse) and gsplay played them …

thanks all for the suggestions, will try and report back... MFPLAY seem to only support GS though, gsplay was playing midis wrong for me... never used XMIPLAY, not sure where to grab xmis though
