I bought a SCC1-1 for 20euro, and I was wondering if in games , like the Ultima Underworlds for example, choosing the lapc/mt-32 option gives the same result... are these compatible?

emu8000 sounds great, I agree too, but unfortunatelly only in specific games... maybe the ideal setup is : SB16 + DB50XG & Roland SCC1/LAPC1 or SB16 + SCB-55 & Yamaha SW60XG any thoughts on that? 😁

Actually the small manual with mt32 comp. seems to belong to the DREAM WAVETABLE DaughterBoard... not the tbs2000 ...

oh nice... I was worried about roland mt-32/scc1 compatibility... The turtlebeach is a standalone card, the TBS-2000 tropez 32 ??? with wavefront technology apparently and also has a reference in mt-32 mode on a small manual I have for it...

I grabbed 2 SB16's off ebay: Creative Sound Blaster 4 Ch ISA Card CT2970 (6866175461) Creative Sound Blaster ISA Card Vintage CT2980 (6866175516) so I guess the SB part is gone, both have wavetable connectors. so what do you recommend for a DB ? the DB60XG?

there must also be some sort of SBINIT program running, the variables on autoexec.bat are not enough... go to creative's website and there is a package called : BASIC DOS SUPPORT UTILITIES FOR WINDOWS 95/98 or something like this , use the progs in there to have your AWE32 working under DOS. actually I had a soundcard that was made by yamaha, the YAMAHA WAVEFORCE 192 XG . awesome card, superior audio quality, when later I switched to a SBLive! the difference in quality was huge! yamaha cards are the best...

creative cards from live! and upwards are awesome... there is no rival for them, cmedia, realtec and the rest just produce codecs for cheap onboard audio solutions... and if they appear on a pci card, you can be sure it's the same as onboard sound... they use pcu power for sound, and that sux big …

even if you could get the samples out of a db50xg, you would never get the 3 dsp's it uses to apply effects, it will sound dull... perhaps you can get yamaha's software synth, I think it is named: SWY50XG or something...

well, I have the db60xg (not the 50 one, lol) and not the sb16... I'll do some testing with an als100+ pnp card + db60xg... sb16's are 5euro on ebay, but I got so many sound cards the last week, I really don't want another for testing.... man, I have 12 of them here, both isa / pci... also I believe …

AFAIK, SBLINK is for carrying isa irq's/dma in pci soundcards that support it... never tried that though... AWE64 is not very good for dos gaming because is GM emulation is buggy as hell... for games that support it directly it rocks, but for GM is a no-go... I'll go with a sb16 + db50xg for now... …

I have read that the ESS boards do not really have a mpu401, and they use some drivers for that... would it cause probs with a wavetable daughterboard?
