Re: D-Fend Reloaded (DOSBox frontend)

I tried to add to the frontend the game Bargon Attack with ScummVM and in the game support list it isnt there to select it, how can I add it? The list of games supported by ScummVM offered in the D-Fend Reloaded profile editor is read directly from ScummVM. If you have updated to a newer version of …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (DOSBox frontend)

Back from holyday... paladin5000: Nice to hear its working now. Retro_King: I'm using Delphi 2007 and I'm not planning to buy a newer version at the moment. There are some limitations due to the runtime library. You can try to customize the icons (see C:\Program Files (x86)\D-Fend Reloaded\IconSets\ …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (DOSBox frontend)

Hi paladin5000, the profile editor cannot look inside an archive file. Therefore you will have to give the system some hints. Lets assume you have mounted a zip file as DOSBox drive D: and in your zip file there is a folder named "game" containing a "start.exe" you want to start. In this case you …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (DOSBox frontend)

Hi gates007ca, I really cannot reproduce this error. For me downloading game information from Mobygames works fine, also when trying to download information for more than one profile. But by looking at the source code I have found one possible cause for the problem: "Error reading data from …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (DOSBox frontend)

Hi ColdBrain, the new game wizard by default tries to display as less as possible pages. If the game can be identified via the checksums in some auto setup template, DFR is using this template (which also contains game meta information) and does not show the game meta information dialog page (from …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (DOSBox frontend)

Hi ColdBrain, you can set up custom folders for your games etc. on the "Directories" subpage of the "General" page of the program settings dialog. But anyway the portable installation is not limited to portable devices. You can use it anywhere. The advantage of the regular installation is that …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (DOSBox frontend)

Hi djvj, that's very, very, very strange. When double clicking a profile in DFR and when starting it via command line exactly the same configuration file is interpreted by the same function in exactly the same way. So if a profile is starting windowed when clicking it in the DFR window it should …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (DOSBox frontend)

Hi djvj, I do not understand your problem. The behaviour described is as intended. D-Fend Reloaded is using *.prof files located in \Confs to store the configuration for each game. If you try to start a game via "DFend.exe game name", DFR is looking for the maching prof file there, is creating a …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (DOSBox frontend)

I'm working on a first release candidate of a 1.4.1 version addressing the described problems. What I have done so far: The moby games data reader will react more relaxed when trying to update the configuration on startup but the server is not responding (and at least an outdated configuration file …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (DOSBox frontend)

After two month of beta phase I'm releasing D-Fend Reloaded 1.4.0 and even before writing a "New version is out" message here I get a "Not working" post. Why now? Why not yesterday or last week? Always when I'm thinking a new version is done and I won't need to work on DFR the next weeks something …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (DOSBox frontend)

Hi amix, making the packages list sortable will be added in 1.4rc1. Because DFR is not storing the old list when downloading a new list emphasizing new entries would require bigger changes and will not be implemented. As far as I know there are no sites offering download packages for DFR.
