On a 40MHz 386 board, I can generally set the fastest cache timings with 20ns cache, but if you're running a 486 then 15ns cache might help you tighten things enough to see a measurable performance increase.

NEL should be the same company as "Juko" if that helps. Also, if it really does "1024" lines as stated on the BIOS chip, that would be a pretty impressive extended EGA card.

Nexgen is pretty cool. I didn't even know they existed until years after they were obsolete. I definitely would have picked one up back in the late 90s had I known. I think the VLB version is pretty neat. Do the PF chips work in the VLB board?

It sounds like a classic case of defective 206 system controller. I believe you are right that there may have been a workaround involving a capacitor, but I'm not sure if it was a proper fix.

I cannot seem to find the 64kx1 15ns 22 pin by WinBond, ISSI, UMC, or Cypress, only AT&T chips have that on eBay as my Packard Bell requires 5x 28-pin (or 4x 32-pin) 20ns (4x) and 15ns (1x) TAG SRAM chips, and 1 22-pin 15ns DB SRAM chip. Cyrix 486DRu2 & 486DRx2 and also the TI486SXL2. DRx2 and SXL2 are uncommon, not rare. The DRu2 might be rare though. It's actually not a CPU, but a kit that consists of a regular 486DLC and a clock doubling interposer that fits underneath.
