In Japan they had similar upgrades for 386DX systems, a plug in 486 board with its own memory that required a special driver to utilise. I am not aware of any such upgrades for 386SX systems though. DX2 chips do not support 1X. Only 2X. There is only one socket3 chip that supports 1X, that is the cx5x86 ,and it must be done with software.

Aren't IRQ2 and IRQ9 the same thing? Believe the 16-bit IRQ controller is cascaded to the 8-bit one on IRQ2.

Maybe there were issues with the controller, and the board was sold as ISA only for special use somewhere. ISA only Pentium motherboards did exist in 1993.

SLC systems never had weitek sockets. Sometimes DLC boards did...and yes in theory you could use both at the same time.
