Peformance is surprisingly good considering a 16-bit path to memory and no cache. I wonder if your CPU would overclock to 40MHz?

I would use the Miro. It probably has better signal quality than the Jaton card.

Wasn't the first wave of Packard Bell systems just a way to cash in on older people's nostalgia for radios? Were those machines not also Chinese crap? Getting back into the the desktop PC market seems kind of silly considering desktop PCs are now basically a niche product.

Programs that can fit inside the CPU's internal cache will run at the same speed on the DX-50 and the DX/2-50. Whatever it was that caused the problem, I'm glad it's working again. I noticed that a lot of my old DIP chips (epsecially BIOSes) have this weird white build-up (corrosion?) going on. It has occasionally caused problems for me when I put them in my EPROM reader.

User Feipoa also experienced the really warm RAM modules on his Abit FU340 386 motherboard. He was never able to determine the problem though (and he has the equipment to do so). I don't think it's possible to hack an AT keyboard onto an XT with a BIOS extension. It's a hardware problem, different controllers.

I have a Juko 8086/V30 board. It uses something called "NEST" BIOS. I would imagine it should work on a 8088/V20 board if you were to convert the BIOS into a single 8-bit image. The Am5x86 also failed NT4 with the aggressive memory timings I was using. I am going to stick with the Cyrix 5x86-120, because with enhancements on it seems faster (feels faster in NT4 at least). That soundcard in the picture is not a Mediavision Thunderboard. Is it even Mediavision? It looks like a generic OPTi 929 card to me. The voodoo TV 200 tuner is beyond repair unless you have access to alien nano-technology.

Did you try it in the AT system again? I had a lot of problems getting keyboards to work on my Juko board. It doesn't like certain types of switchable keyboards and works intermittently.
