It should be, but I would double check the jumpers just to be sure it does what you want. I am pretty sure that the somewhat common evergreen chips are what you want.

5x86 can be used to upgrade any 486 socket, but a VRM will be required. Most of the VRM modules I have seen allow you to set the pinout for either ODP or ODPR configurations. Is the DX4 overdrive really so expensive these days?

I'm pretty sure there is something like this for DOS. It may have come with Desqview or some kind of other multisession DOS. I remember reading about it in an old copy of PC magazine. I can't remember how flexible it was though.

I always just assume if I can't find any chips on the card with "OPL" printed on it, it must be CQM, especially if it's a later model.

Octek Hippo IV has no L2 cache as far as I can tell, so no big loss. Plus, if you want to go for a 486 with no local bus, then go for the Asus board.
