but how about some sort of Tandy 1000 variant? are there special tandy versions of these games? or are they technically identical with the versions I could run on my 386? (still aiming for your 8bit PAS though :D) An Enhanced IDE controller. Supports up to 8,4GB disks.. Going use this for an 486 …

Actually I ran out of ideas of what to buy and build... I have created so far three PCs which can cover every game released from 1980 - 1999 to be played in the way it was designed... Any suggestions?

the bad thing about pioneer slot in drives is that they refuse to load dvds after a specific period of time, they just immediately eject the dvd then

so now it's getting interesting. I had one of those, too. but the problem was that the image was always positioned (horz + vert) wrong, e.g. the image had negative x or y coordinates

i have a geforce4 ti4600 in my k6 board. it does not depend on the agp speed but on the voltage (3,3 vs. 5 volt)

we'll see. the riva128 is from 1998 and works, but it it exists only with VGA

there are enough other pci cards (like ide/sata/usb/nic/...) that work with this board, so I just don't believe there is no graphics card that will work 😀
