Re: Simcity 2000 Midi Synth

Here's a new version for y'all to try out; LBRITE has been looped, with a bit of sustain and decay envelopes added in the soundfont. Note that it *definately* needs a bit of work with the loop points of the sample, but this will give you an idea of what I was refering to in my previous post :) (edit …

Re: Simcity 2000 Midi Synth

I've noticed that in the mac version of the tunes, a lot of the instruments (especially LBRITE) seem to sustain, rather than end abruptly. That was what sparked my comment about a tracker, since that can handle such effects more easily than MIDI. Actually, as long as the original WAV sample is …

Re: Simcity 2000 Midi Synth

Some of the MIDIs need a LOT of tweaking. Yeah, quite a bit of the stuff seems a bit "off". One problem is that I've never heard the Mac version's tunes before... but am quite familar with the tunes from the DOS version (back when I had a Wave Blaster 1), later with my AWE32s, and lastly with my …

Re: Technically impressive FM synth music

Funny thing I had never heard of Cybersphere (or Cybersphere Plus) before. The games' release dates (1996-1997) would have been within the era of when I was writing 'Game Channel Features' for Compuserve. Anyhow, what an excellent paddleball game! Amazing the small size of them, a lot of 'bang for …

Re: Simcity 2000 Midi Synth

Here's the first incartion for y'alls enjoyment. The ZIP contains not only the soundfont, but edited MIDI files as well that match the presets in the soundfont. (edit) New version of ZIP... see post below

Re: Settings only GUI panel?

and keep making a shit product that we never gain real wide spread usage beyond uber geeks. The solution is quite brainlessly simple. Head to EBay and buy yourself a shiny new 386 or 486 class machine... PROBLEM SOLVED! . Oh, but waitaminute, you'll STILL have to configure the hardware and edit …

Re: Simcity 2000 Midi Synth

I have the samples, but the actual creation of the soundfont might be harder than I thought, as there are only 16 samples from the Mac version, but the MIDIs I have seem to use more than that many instruments among them. What they probably do with the Mac version is to mix several of the samples …

Re: Execute a program on DOSBox shutdown?

This works perfectly! I can use DOSBox to run my CONQUER.BAT batch file menu, and then if one of the two RUNDLL32 command lines is selected, have DOSBox shutdown and run it :) As an example, the "Play Music" selection: These are the lines in my DOSBox.conf configuration file: "[autoexec]" section of …

Re: Execute a program on DOSBox shutdown?

I'm a bit confused. How would Taskkill be of help in a batch file running within a DOSBox mounted drive? In other words, the batch file commands above that load a PDF into Adobe (as well as start the Windows Media Player) are contained within the actual batch file that is running under DOSBox.

Execute a program on DOSBox shutdown?

I have an extremely complex batch file that I use to run Command & Conquer with. The batch file is a frontend menu of sorts that does most everything that I wish to do in/with C&C. I was wondering if there was some way to do this, but have a hunch probably not. Two of the menu options in my batch …
