I can't convert SoundFont or GUS or anything else to DLS. IIRC the utility "AWave" can convert from most anything (including soundfonts) to DLS format. But (again, IIRC), the result of the SF2 to DLS conversion was a nightmare with really horrid sound (out of tune notes, incorrect instruments, etc …

Not sure if I'm on the right track here, but the Terra Nova music when configured for a GUS requires the old GUS utility "LOADPATS.EXE" (included with the game). AFAIK/IIRC DOSbox doesn't support loading GUS patches using the LOADPATS.EXE utility, which TN requires as it includes several custom GUS …

I still have my old CL SB16 manuals (from two different old cards), both sets of manuals are with the old Creative Labs' "orangish+blue" motif, and couldn't find a single blurb in them about sys reqs.

I had a looksie at the "D1 Full Version for FM" in my MIDI sequencer... definitely *strange* looking to say the least. The MIDI files appear to be type 1 and are not tagged "Mark for Microsoft Media Player", yet only the first two tracks are actually assigned MIDI channel numbers (channel 1).

As a smoker and PC tech, my magic for monitors (or any of that "beige-ish" plastic used on a lot of things): 409 spray (or other comparable kitchen surface spray) and elbow grease, followed by 91% isopropyl alcohol and more elbow grease... works like a champ 😀
