personally I would cut off a new floppy power connector, GENTLY insert the wires into the existing 3-pin connector (DOUBLE CHECK VOLTAGES) and hot glue it in place. I NEVER will do a permanent modification if I can avoid it.

He is actually referring to the 3-pin connector. it is NOT the same as a typical 3-pin connector you are used to. the pin itself is blade shaped, not square.

honestly he is over thinking the ozone thing. some wood and a few panels of glass/plexiglass and a tube of silicone. you can then build a hotbox for the process. hell you can probably just use an old aquarium with a tight lid to do the same thing.

@kiwa I generally lose interest in computers if they are faster than a pentium or don't have 2 cpus. That said, I would DEFINITELY save this and get it working. So totally worth getting weird things up and running like this. Side note: love the LS-120 drive in the first pic!

The issue with a quake benchmark is the video card choice. I did some testing and Quake loves uncacheable speculative write combining (USWC) and not all motherboards/bioses/video cards support this. pin 1 is ground, pin 2 is +12v and pin 3 is +5v I have 2x 270mb ide drives out of old apples that have this connector. Never actually seen it used though. I'll get some pics up later if you want. For the record, my drive is a Quantum ProDrive LPS.
