As someone whom deals almost exclusively in multi-cpu machines, I can affirm Kixs is correct. Overall, a dual cpu system will FEEL much more responsive than a single. Even on games, if a 2nd cpu can take the hard drive or sound overhead, thats always a plus.

All other benchmarks run a little faster than a standard p2-333. Except for ones that really test the memory. Those got massive gains. There will always be jerks. To me, tubes are neat, but I can't see myself using them. We are talking about an external usb floppy drive here. remove a stick and try again. Whats most likely happening is you are past the cache-able ram limit. Long story short, there is only so much ram your L2 cache can address. Most P5A's cap at 512mb or less. A K6 (2 or 3)+ resolves this, but is still a concern.

dont. you should use a separate power supply. Just use a standard 12v wall-wart and a 5v regulator circuit. they make nice regulated switch-mode 12v power supplies, and getting 5v from that is electronics 101. Then you could use as much power as you cared to.

it actually says ECC right on the sticker. ALSO it has 9 chips per side and nu buffers so its obvious. that said, it's a GOOD DEAL.

Heatsink isnt designed to be removed. With a little bit of case air flow it should be plenty for most things.
