Honestly, I don't think it matters. Up until the quake3/UT era soundcards were very "dumb" cards. For the most part, there were just fancy digital to analog converters. However, once 3D audio came around then it started to matter.

when I tested it, I had sim city classic. it was still the disk dos version. But if I recall correctly, the performance of having a co-pro was around 40-50% faster.

no. It has the same performance as the "standard" pentium 2. Feiopia is working on a HUGE benchmark spreadsheet, and he can give actual benchmarks once its finished.

Oh, you can get the connectors here: http://www.mouser.com/ The power supply's manual tells you exactly what connectors you need. (they are very standard)

p2 & p3 xeons are ALL 100fsb. Except for the "overdrives" @ 933 & 1ghz. these were nothing more than a coppermine on a slot 2 board. on the motherboard with teh G2 chipset, the open socket is for the 287. the 40-pin dip chip with the white sticker is your keyboard bios. The suntaq, the 287 socket is still near the cpu, and it is close to the power socket in that case.

What i'm surprised by, nobody has made a "retro" motherboard. One that takes a "new" processor and "new" ram, but is designed to work with old ISA hardware.
