Is it not meant to be used with a 90° angle plug? It is. And the feet are of course there to elevate it enough to clear the angled plug and also allow enough room for the exhaust air to escape. However, it still seems like an incredibly stupid design, in terms of both practicality and airflow.

And what's wrong with ISA as ice-a? I don't see the problem either. That's always been the common pronunciation... in fact, the only people I've ever heard spell it out have been youngsters unfamiliar with older hardware. Same with EISA (ee-suh).

Anyone has any other tips on how to clean it completely? Vinegar to neutralize any remaining leakage hiding in the nooks and crannies, then go back over the area with alcohol and a soft brush. There will probably be some discoloration left, but that's really just cosmetic and nothing to worry about …

bottom middle, what is that long pci-e slot? That's for a riser card, when you use the board in a rackmount case. I believe it will also function as a regular PCIe x8 slot though, just leaving the extended portion unused.

Yeah, those heatsinks will work fine, I have a few of the fanless versions. The part that clips over the edge of the CPU is pretty thin, so it won't really interfere with seating the chip in the socket. Fancy heatsink compound is pretty much pointless in general, and especially so on older stuff …

You're going to hate hearing this, but there's an 8mb (or is it 16?) PCI card on ebay right now. Not anymore. I don't know who would want to pay $50 for such a thing, but apparently somebody thought it was worthwhile.

Is this guide the best ? It may or may not be the best guide, but the procedure is the same regardless. The clone chips are pretty much the same internally as the actual Dallas chips, so there's no need to get an actual Dallas one to do the mod.

Sounds like you basically want an old Neoware thin client. The CA2, CA10, and EON are probably the best-suited models (each with their own minor advantages and caveats), and they're pretty common and cheap on eBay.

That's not actually a spacer. It's just a regular LIF socket (like this ), which has been re-purposed for use as such. Unfortunately, even knowing that won't make it any easier to find one... Switch + drill + soldering iron = whatever kind of switch you want, anywhere you want. Any electronic parts store and most hardware stores will have the basic SPST type toggle switch like you'd need for the turbo.
