just because gigabyte says it doens't support 1gb of ram doesn't mean it's true. Perhaps, but in this case it is true. That board uses an i815 chipset. It is a well known fact that the 815 will not accept more than 512MB in any way, shape or form.

I think you mean Miniscribe. The actual model number should be 3650, IIRC. I wouldn't expect too much out of it... those damn things barely worked right when they were new. The ST-251 shouldn't give you too much of a problem though. Those were about as indestructible as the ST-225.
