Re: Missing soundcards

I have discovered that Space Quest 4 does not "sound" right unless you put the OPLRATE and RATE to 44100. This is for Soundblaster Cards of course. I don't know why but it fixes the bad sounding notes that are emulated. Otherwise every other game sounds just fine at 220500. Weirdness.

Re: space quest 4

This is an old old old issue. It is correct in the latest DOSBox. No need for bug patches. Never had a bug crop up when playing in DOSBox. But if you try it through windows 95 or higher you might hit bugs.

Re: Dominus - help please :-\

urg, i gather then that you .. Didn't mount the CD-Drive eh? Ok what you need to do is to mount your game drive obviously to the same drive as where your game is: Like mount C: C:\ well the same has to go for your cd-rom (since I partitioned my HD my letters are different) which would be: Like mount …

Re: Strike Commander installation failure

Link to the DOSBox CVS is in my signature. DOSBox CVS is the source code for DOSBox that has been uploaded to a server at sourceforge.net and is made free to people who want to download it and help work with making it better or other stuff. I compile this source code with the latest changes by the …

Re: Win 3.1 SVGA Driver

It's possible you're using an Oak Driver because Canadacow rewrote the graphics code in his builds to a different Graphics Card (Oak I believe) be more supportive for higher color counts but since he's been "quite" busy lately not much of his code is probably going to enter into DOSBox any time soon …

Re: Optimization Flags for Build DOSBox

I agree. What would you said would be the best optimizations that wouldn't break stability for compiling DOSBox and that would still be usuable for comps across the board? Just trying to read ALL the freaking options on this page Options That Control Optimization (for GCC 3.4.1) makes my brain sweat …

Re: Optimization Flags for Build DOSBox

Note if you compile with gcc 3.4.1, it no longers recognizes the PACK call in MingW. I've tested it. For me at least I'm sticking with gcc 3.3.3 for another reason in that the size of the executable keeps enlarging dramaticly each change in GCC. But yes, those optimizations I've known of. Haven't …

Re: How to gwt Dos Box into real time

@mirekula I suppose in a way it IS speed but I hadn't finished saying why not to push it too far. It's because you will cause DOSBox to spitter and stutter and you can only get soo much out of DOSBox right now. And some games will allow cycles to keep going because they relied on the speed of the …
