Re: German theme 486 computer.

if you want a german 486 board siemens is probably the only way to go. Yes, Siemens produced some x86 chips.. My 286 PC had a Siemens 80286-12 CPU, for example. And a Schneider BIOS, too. It was a Phoenix derivative. - In the 1980s, there was Schneider Rundfunkwerke AG, which developed/produced …

Re: German theme 486 computer.

You can also throw in parts from Robotron/VEB, if the theme includes former East Germany, too! :D https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kombinat_Robotron https://www.robotrontechnik.de/index.htm?/html/computer/a7150.htm https://www.robotrontechnik.de/index.htm?/html/computer/ec1834.htm Seriously, though, …

I would also like to thank you! 🙂 Munt is neat, but having an MT-32 sound font is fascinating, too. For example, I imagine it allows the use in microcontroller projects, too, which Munt is much to heavy for.

Win XP x86 detects 8TB USB 3.1 HDD

in Milliways
Hi everyone, Just noticed that my old copy of Windows XP SP2 can still handle my newest Terabyte HDD.. While I knew that USB/ATA bridges are a special case and do work with TB capacity, I haven't expected this. The official requirements on the HDDs package do start with Win 7.. Anyway, I'm happy …

Re: Why DOS died...

Personally, I changed my mind and have a not so popular point-of-view: I think that every platform becomes outdated somewhen, so replacing it doesn't matter. It's just a temporal solution that causes more trouble than it's worth. Instead, use emulation and keep the original. I mean, I heard this …
