I'm using a NEC MultiSync LCD 1550ME. It's about 15 inches and has 4:3 ratio, I believe. Motion blur and scaling are no problem, as far as I can tell (flight sims do work fine). Before that, I used to have a grey Belinea LCD screen (sorry, can't remember model number).

Hmm, I'm not sure either. Perhaps because of the floppy controller. Or maybe the controller is split into two units internally. Then it could be necessary to have separate firmware, because each part does require a different machine language. Like z80 and 6502 micro processors do, for example.

Interesting topic! I wonder if "protected mode" refers to 32bit protected mode only (with or without V86). Or 286 protected mode also, as Windows 3.1 does in Standard Mode or OS/2 1.x..

@tikoellner Yes, and the heads limit is also something. Some BIOSes do allow more than 16 heads, as well. About 256 (0-255), I think. It depends on the BIOS flavor wheter or not the full amount is reported back via standard int13h. http://philipstorr.id.au/pcbook/book4/hdlimit.htm

It's not a bug, it's feature! :) But seriously, it could be that your BIOS simply behaves too well or too ideal (i.e. 16 heads / 1024 cylinder limit, no logical CHS). The classic versions of DOS do use basic int13h services, thus won't see full drive capacity. A workaround would be to convince them …

It depends on your G5 model, I guess.. But generally speaking, Tiger does also run on G5s. I think there even was some sort of special edition of 10.4 for that kind of Mac (incl. classic environment). But I'm speaking under correction, I'm just a G3 and G4 owner right now. 😅
