For me it's a bit like this I think: DOS - Probably something like 166MHz or less. Win95 - 386 to maybe 166MHz and at least 16MB RAM or so. Win98SE - 133MHz to maybe 500MHz and 64MB RAM. Does the SE440BX-2 work with a C3? Intel SR440BX so far does not cooperate. Maybe the BIOS does only allows intel vendor strings, just like it does not allow 133MHz FSB intel processors. What did you use to create this homemade bootdisk? And before burning the actual media, it's always a good idea to test it in Virtual PC first (unless you're in dire need of lots of extra coasters 😜). How did you proceed? Does an original XP disk work?

Which games do you want to play? Which exact GPU are you using? One 128MB GPU may perform vastly different from another 128MB GPU, so which one you have is actually kinda quite important.

Copy the install directory from the disk to the harddrive, then mount that harddrive into the PC you want to install 98 on and install from there. I don't know the step-by-step procedure from top of my head though.
