Theres always new friends to make. I always end up with quite a freindslist, even though I barely even speak with the vast majority of them. It's more a "Hey, whatsup mate? ;)" list :P As long as a game has 1 fun and reasonably filled server, I find it fun to play :) AVP2 remained fun all the way …

I did that a couple times. I just set it up with a password (server was non-dedicated btw). So far no intrusions. Btw, I was playing a modded SP so my guess would be they won't be able to use all the fun stuff I created anyway 😀

There are plenty of people out there better then me at modding definitely. I try to stick to the basics these days due to time limits, but I do love solving problems and figuring out new stuff when I can. Hmmm...now I'm actually starting to consider building an SLI rig... Thinking out loud...VC820 board, Slot 1 1Ghz, 512MB RIMM, Voodoo 2 SLI, 20GB laptop drive (2006 vintage, should be speedy enough for loading), Windows ME 😁 and some random AGP card 😁 And a 300W FSP PSU.

I used to use a Radeon 9600 for BF2142, it actually ran the game pretty well (until you entered the titan). I actually decided to replace the 7600GS from my offline database with a Radeon 9600 as that rig isn't meant for gaming anyway. And I have a 6800 in my next rig actually. Just need to go put it together and do some mandatory drivers and tweaks etc 😉

I tried it myself, it looked very similar to the youtube vid. It ran ok @ 640*480-ish and everything at minimal, but once I added shadows (at minimum of course, no shadows = no playing in my book) it became very laggy. I actually love ME btw 😉 Tried 98SE once and I just couldn't get used to it and it's own oddnesses. I basically use ME every time I feel like XP is too much for a rig (or a system has only 64MB or less RAm available, then I'd go 98SE or ever 95).

I'm actually somewhat surprised GF1 never appeared in the second hand market, especially after it's rave reviews and it's reputation. I mean, you could say that in one way it was the GeForce 1 that dug 3DFX's grave and placed 3DFX standing right next to it. GF2 only tipped 3DFX in with a finger :P …
