All we need is someone with a V2.02 DSP CT1350B with the original CMS chips and hand it over to Chuck(G). I bet the fuse map would be slightly different from the one we have right now!

OK. I bet ALL REV cards have DSP V2.01, and ALL non-REV cards with DSP V2.01 should work just like REV cards. ALL DSP V2.02 cards will have the DEAD SB/AdLib problem. We need to gather info all around here, basically owners of REV and non-REV cards must check their cards DSP version. I bet this has …

The weirdest thing is that i tried a Lattice GAL and it works as well. So it might be that some non-REV cards work and others do not. Keropi which DSP version do you have? I'm inclined to think your card has DSP V2.02... My non-REV CT1350B is DSP V2.01...

I'm clumsy to electronics true. But i've learned that it's of the utmost importance to replace capacitors with the same ratings. Not only voltage but also uF values. For instance when i had to replace caps on one of my motherboards, i got exactly equal rating caps, and then chose high quality ones. …

Set your memory speeds to slowest possible, increase memory latencies. Disable checking of parity errors if you have that option. Try other memory sticks. Unplug turbo cable, keylock cable, etc... My S3 Trio PCI VGA card is running great considering i'm running at 40MHZ FSB and the ZIDA 4DPS has no PCI divider. PCI has always worked very well in 486's even back in the day.

That's a Lucky Star board. I have a coulpe of them. A rev D and a rev F. It could be they planned a PS/2 connector, but in that revision i don't see a capable controller of the kind.

I actually agree with Mau1wurf1977 on this one. Get a good Super Socket 7 board and enjoy. I got a DFI one, and the board is top notch. Get a Pentium 100. If its too fast downclock it to 75, disable its cache, yada yada yada... Better yet, get an AMD K5 and enjoy the best integer performance ever. I …

With the 486 is not a big deal because i'm using a PS/2 optical mouse anyway, but that combo mouse has something like 800DPI which was being great with the 386.

Well i cannot say for sure it was because of CD Drive, because i'm not sure it stop working immediately. But it was the last hardware change before it started doing this.
