Windows 9x as a guest isn't support on DOSBox nor does official DOSBox support android. Played the original Heroes 3 on a PC the way it's meant to be played.

I create folders on my file server for all my saved games in "finish" and "unfinished" folders. The folders also contain the locations of the original saved games.

Don't expect much help here since DOSBox does not support Windows 9x as a guest OS. You should use the Dosbox-X build if you want to try 9x in DOSBox. DOSBox-X branch

I've written to 2008R2 shares from NT4/95/98... IIRC there are some changes that need to be done in gpedit\registry but I'm sure those are easily found on google. Also remember the share/filesystem permissions. You'll likely need to use "anonymous" or "everyone" permissions. It's been a long time …

This isn't a DOSBox issue and no one has ever posted this problem before to this forum. Start by checking the date modified timestamp and also run a diff betwene the original and modified files to see what is being changed.

I've done this for 2003 but haven't bothered for other versions of Windows since the amount of games affected AFAIK is so low.

You can put Windows 7/8 32bit on that computer. No guarantee that the 16bit program will work since NTVDM especially for windows apps on Vista+ isn't as compatible as previous operating systems but it's worth a shot.

Use Daemon Tools and always use CUE/BIN if the game doesn't have copy protection. IIRC the CCD is similar to a CUE file but it's been years since I've bothered with clonecd. All image data is stored in the BIN/IMG file.
