You may have to reduce video hardware acceleration in the guest for some games.

Yes installing XP video drivers in Vista will allow you to run a full screen command prompt with the potential loss of stability and the loss of DX10 and aero desktop. As for Deus Ex IW you'll likely need to use a NOCD patch.

No you run DOSBox and then install MS-DOS (or other DOS variant) inside of it. or you use another VM program such as Virtual PC or Vmware and install a DOS variant in there.

DOSBox development is mainly focused on getting games to work so if a game or a game installer doesn't use this functionality then it won't be implemented. Added Dead Space to the list. Took me 11hrs 47mins to finish it on medium. Don't think I could have standed playing it any longer. They paced the levels well and the story is good but it does get old shooting things for 11hrs. heh. Next game to play is Dawn of War 2.

You can try the Tseng chipsets emulated by DOSBox (you need to change your dosbox.conf to use them). Also you'll need to load the 3.11 drivers for them as well. They may possible give you more than 256 colors at 1280.

Are you using the GTA 1 that you can download straight from Rockstar? AFAIK it works fine in Windows.

Daemon Tools doesn't install adware unless you tell it to. If you cannot uncheck a box then that's your fault. An alternative is Slysoft Virtual CloneDrive.
