Yeah, but according to their documentation they only support XP+ guests for OGL. Last time I tried D3D in a 2000 guest in Vmware I would get BSOD's in almost every D3D game. Using an XP guest on the same machine, no BSOD's.

For a paid product people expect it to work right of the bat. Since DOSBox is an emulator then any bugs caused by DOSBox in the game would be the same for all computers. The advantage with dual-processors at that time was having a smooth desktop experience, being able to multitask and being offload the load of the OS to the other processor for a smoother gaming experience.
