You can mount and unmount floppies and CD's in DOSBox all day but you cannot boot from them. You also cannot mount/unmount floppies and CD's once DOSBox is booted into another operating system. DOSBox doesn't have additions, a GUI or a console like QEMU where you can perform these functions from …

Currently DOSBox cannot boot CD's and it's not planned for inclusion. DOSBox is not really for running operating systems. With that said you can: 1. Create an HD image and install: MS-DOS 6.22 Windows 3.0,3.1,3.11 Windows 95A and 95B. Windows 95 isn't really supported in DOSBox though. 2. You can …

Almost all Windows 9x CD's are not bootable. You have to either make it bootable or just use a bootable floppy disk. Also, Vmware doesn't support D3D with Windows 9x guests. Sounds like your trying to install the sequel on Vista 64bit which doesn't like the installer. Try installing it in VPC. If you really want to run it on Vista 64bit you'll have to copy the files from the guest to the host and probably export and import registry entries as well.
