The main worry I have is that they will try more and more to make Single Player games "online" therefore making a crack for singler player usage basically impossible. I'd imagine that in a couple of years the single player campaign for a game will be so sparse as to be unuseable unless you connect …

Well VPC your out of luck since VPC doesn't support USB. DOSBox and Vmware will work. DOSBox won't support all of the buttons and you'll have to configure your dosbox.conf

or you can try HAL9000's build of DOSBox. He has the NE2000 patch integrated which means you can use TCP/IP in DOS. According to this page it also works in Windows 95 so it should work in Windows 3.1 as well: http://home.arcor.de/h-a-l-9000/ne2kstuff/db_ne2000.html

Don't mount the game folder. Put the game in another folder and then mount THAT folder as the C:\ drive.

It was probably the AVG service. When you shut the GUI down it probably didn't shut down the service.

You have to run DOSBox as an administrator or change the permissions on the capture folder.

Did that keyboard come with any software? Also check HID in Device Manager and see if something looks wrong.
