Ask on the GamecopyWorld forums about the download. Usually alot of online virus scanners have false-positives on alot of their stuff.

Okay I just tried the Windows ver of Dungeon Keeper Gold and if you do not apply the D3D patch then the game works fine. Compatibility mode doesn't work with the game as it did with Windows XP, I'll have to look through the ACT and see if applying the fix works for the game as it did back in the …

I think they all do what your describe. They mostly differ in interface design, and compatibility with multiple OS's. The most popular ones are D.O.G., DBGL, and DFEND Reloaded.

If you want to get technical there is is no "right" way to do it (unless you run the game on the OS it was designed to run on). Dungeon Keeper is a DOS/Windows 95 game. It was never designed to run on operating systems newer than those two. So using DosBox to play the game is no more right or wrong …

So your saying that the demo works fine for you but not the full game? I've never tried the demo in DosBox just the full game...... I'm wondering if the version of Win32s your using is different from the version I used. Problem is I can't remember which version I used.....

If your going to run it in Vista without emulation then you'll need to use compatibility tab and apply 256 colors and 640x480....and if your running Aero this will screw up your desktop colors and revert back to Vista Basic if you like to switch between the game and your desktop. HAL 9000's builds support Native IPX http://home.arcor.de/h-a-l-9000/ but I'm not sure if his Mega Build does. The build of DosBox that explicitly states support of Native IPX is very old.
