Re: XBox One unveiled

There is no such thing ... We need a proof ;) Exactly. I've played online games with enough guys using female elves and such as their characters to know better than to trust anyone who says they're a girl without proof. They usually turn out to be guys in their late 40's with manboobs living in …

robertmo wrote: you are so wrong 😉 http://acidcow.com/girls/22411-topless-chicks … es-10-pics.html Everyone knows there are no real girls in online games, only manginas pretending to be girls so people give them free stuff. 😁

Re: Is it Just Me, or is Direct3D a Dying Cause?

And who says OpenGL 1.x (widely, WIDELY used) isn't rotting away? The SGIS Extensions being dropped were only the beginning... I just watch a recording of a recent key note with valve developers talking about open GL and how they got dx 10 and 11 functionality with it on windows xp among other …

Re: Is it Just Me, or is Direct3D a Dying Cause?

Performance-wise it's irrelevant in practice with today's hardware as you said. Probably no visual differences either. It's just a fact that modern cards can't do this feature in those games. I think they are constantly omitting old extensions so it may be only a matter of time until these games …

Re: Is it Just Me, or is Direct3D a Dying Cause?

Linux gaming failed once already. I can remember a brief period of time when you could buy boxed copies of games for Linux in software stores but it didn't last long. Within a few months none of the retailers would carry them anymore because they weren't selling. It is quite different nowdays …

Re: Is it Just Me, or is Direct3D a Dying Cause?

It's also too early to even state any success about Linux gaming. The current big WMs are a trainwreck arms race for unproven 'modern UI' concepts, the drivers often don't work (why would one need a Radeon HD6000/7000+ to play TF2, a 2007 game with support for the Geforce3/Radeon8500 , on Linux?) …

Re: windows8

I was looking forward to the start button, but then they didn't include the start menu. I don't think they really understood their customer complaints :) I was looking forward to being able to boot to an actual desktop with icons, not the Metro interface overlaid on top of a wallpaper pretending to …

Re: How many people actually use 1080p?

Re: How many people actually use 1080p?

1366 x 768 is better resolution than 720p so it is HD. If you want to count pixels, it's actually even better than 1080i since 1080i shows the same number of pixels on the screen at the same time as 540p only 1080i has blanks between the scanlines, 540p doesn't. Wha? There aren't any "blanks". …

Re: JOYSTICK ... favorite?

The Gravis "dogbone" pad that looks like the controller that came with the SNES, or the later one that looked like a Playstation controller, are probably in everyone's collection. They are classic designs that just work.

Re: Baldur's Gate: Reloaded

...just an example of the entitlement mentality that people have that they can just take from people who create ... You know full well that "copyright holders" does not necessarily equal the "people who create". Don't pretend that greed and entitlement don't exist on both sides of the fence - it's …
