486slc2 was made by IBM for use in their own motherboards. Part of the licensing agreement they had with Intel stipulated that they could only make chips that soldered directly to the motherboard and not ones that fit in 486 sockets. Keep in mind that for dual CPU use you need an OS that supports it, which means Windows NT/2K/XP/Vista/7. You also need games that support it. If your OS or games don't support SMP then you're better off just to build a single CPU system because the second CPU will just sit there idling.
