I'm surprised they actually tried using the Netburst core in laptops at all. One of the biggest reasons why Apple dumped PowerPC was because IBM couldn't make a low heat, low power version of the G5 for use in the Powerbooks. Wow, this thread kinda misses the point on nostalgia of gaming. The OS. Pentium 4 was more for XP and newer hardware for the time. Not many P4 boards supported older AGP 2x/4x cards or ISA. Buh-bye 3dfx/Geforce 1-2-3 etc... Athlons would be a good choice for nostalgic gaming but parts are scarce …

I prefer P3 over P4 as P3 runs a lot cooler, so it's less worry about finding a good cooling solution for the case (as you noticed in my rigs thread, I take great care in making sure theres enough cool air to go around ;) ). The Intel cooling solution for s423/s478 was superior and easier to work …
