DOSBox IS NOT SUITED TO RUN YOUR NON-GAMING DOS APPLICATION Besides that re-install the application using a clean dosbox setup (unmodified config file etc)

You want to remove existing possibly-overwriting mappings, not add new ones. Also please don't ignore DOSFreak's posting.

So did you check out the power management functions? Probably even some 3rd party application monitors something and wrongly triggers a "nobody is using the PC" event.

It's used for synchronization and the code always looks pretty much the same, flags are destroyed early after. But yeah feel free to bother.

Think the enhanced-mode windows didn't run on freedos so it's quite useless there, but don't know if that has changed recently. Doubt it though.

Well as a general rule first check the system for viruses (use a different scanner than your current one) and rootkits. Then try to get rid of old stuff if possible (including old drivers/services). Last uninstall the current graphics card driver and reboot, check if the system automatically updates …

If opengl applications crash and graphics card driver installation fails you certainly have a hardware/system problem.
