at this point i think its dosbox and not my computer. Maybe neither of these two but plain user error. First of all post full system specs including dosbox version, EXACTLY how you installed the game and how the full mounting lines look like.

Well first thing is to make it have an effect, and you already achieved this in a nice way which is cool 😀 I don't have much experience with threads/SLDthreading, rather openmp, so can't really help (stuff is tricky by times so "better not touch" is a quite easy rule for safety.....).

SDL-threads may indeed be a nice way to have this cross-platform (though keep an eye on having stuff embraced by cute defines).

There is currently no option to do this "force-selection" from dosbox.conf. right? Nope. Have you considered maybe splitting machine=cga in two, e.g. machine=cgargb and machine=cgacomposite? I don't care about this stuff for several reasons, but of course this would be possible.

Corridor 7 runs slow under Virtual PC, not DOSBox. Sorry for not reading the thread, but in that scenario you should try vmware stuff (qemu et al may be even slower than vpc).

The "code" he did (algorithm) is in dosbox. For a few games it'd be additionally required to force-select that mode.

Thanks, i can reproduce it that way as well. As it happens under bochs in the same way, maybe somebody can try it on a real pc (with an sb/sb16) to see how it behaves there.

First of all post full system specs, how you installed the game, mountings etc. and then try to be elaborate on how to reproduce the problem (i don't have a single clue on how to "activate" a dragon).
