The best thing to do is creating a new directory (like c:\oldstuff or, if for some reason you want to use your network drive, h:\whatever), mounting that as your c-drive in dosbox. To install games/applications do the same with an installation directory (like copy everything into c:\oldstuff\install …

Sound is probably endianness related (sb16) but the colour bug looks way more like a missing .pal file than byteswitching/shifting.

Just replicate that append.exe and name it subst.exe and join.exe so you "have" those three available, hope that the game doesn't use them.

No, judging dvwjr's info you just put those .exe files into that directory, so no dos booting needed.

What sort of "presentation" is it that you want to hide that you're using dosbox? Iirc SDL does the output redirection, maybe check their sources if that can be disabled/redirected to NUL or so.

If you had the "mount c C:\INTRPLAY\FRAGILE" during the installation, there should be a C:\INTRPLAY\FRAGILE\FRAGILE after the installation as the game unlikely installs into the root.

Well the game surely installs into a subdirectory, so either you didn't post the correct mountings, you used different mountings for installation than for gameplay, or whatever. You said that you're using mount C C:\FRAGILE mount D H:\ -t cdrom when playing, which does not make any sense then. Use the same mounting as you used for the installation.

Please post the mounting-lines exactly as they stood when doing the installation, like "it was mount c c:\xyz and mount d k:\ -t cdrom".

C:\FRAGILE is the install folder. How did the mounting look like exactly when you installed the game?

I think I complied a cvs version at one point recently but it crashed right at the beginning. Maybe when I have some time I should into it. That would be nice, if there's some regression i'd like to fix that sooner than later. Just post somewhere if you need help at some point.
