Could be that it doesn't really work, didn't try it. Maybe using a frontend might be the easiest solution.

Did you follow that wiki entry? Did you register the file extension? Don't know if that's the best way to create shortcuts though.

Uhm if it is the exact same game you played back in dos games, then dig up your old disks and it'll work right away. If it's some windows game, don't bother with *DOS*box as DosFreak said.

Gizmos&Gadgets is a dos game, but either you got a different game with the same name or a win32-installer package of the game.

Please open a separate posting for this, as other people might have experience with this/solutions etc. Usually checking the driver/directx combination helps figuring out when hardware surfaces will be used.

As already mentioned, this comes from D-Fend. I will change the default profile to "auto". auto should be no problem as it defaults to 3000 for the shell and a good number of old games. 2) Mem is set to 32 megs instead of 16. Is this a problem for any game ? Don't change settings unless needed. 16 …

Uninstall and reinstall dosbox, or rename/delete the currently used dosbox.conf and create a new one (config -writeconf dosbox.conf, see the readme).

Be sure you're using the official 0.72 release, starting with a clean dosbox.conf Then re-install the game WITHIN dosbox, and keep the exact mounting.
