If you really need SMC by writing into data segments you have to flag them as code-containing, too, similar for writing into code segments i guess.

Please create a cue/bin pair as cd image, which usually contains more information (audio tracks e.g.) than the iso format. Then re-install the game within dosbox using the mounting you have now just with the iso replaced by cue (path adapted if necessary).

Didn't notice any artifacting. Does the game look at least different with machine=ega than with =vga? (the bottom should be correct) Maybe try a different cvs build, and post screenshots with explanations of what is wrong.

I can't help but wonder, why did they bother to get the Tandy support so flawless? Well people keep nagging about non-working games, and the older the games the more insisting the nagging ;) But it's surely not perfect, yet most graphics modes seem pretty fine for both the tandy and pcjr part. Oh …

qemu had some sort of a testing suite, but the compiled version was for pentium+ (the extender used it). Some interrupts modify the flags state in a non-standard way as they return via retf2 and not iret, but int10 definitely preserves the interrupt flag. Check some original bios dumps/disassemblies …

"watching video" surely uses different settings (refresh rate etc.) even if the same resolution is set, so that's no way to assure that it's not a graphics driver problem (maybe even upgrade SDL). First of all try to move the screen to the right using the knobs of your monitor.

Please post full information about your system, dosbox configuration (especially the exact mounting) and the steps you already did (including what the output of DIR is). Use "cd install" to change the directory btw.

This game most likely doesn't work under dos (real system/dosbox/bochs) at all, it's noted as win95/98. I could not get it to work with hxdpmi either.
