Maybe you have some older savegame, if so: before starting the game (every time!) type "loadfix", then see if it works to that final part starting at that older savegame point.

I don't know how Stonekeep does the character translation. Usually localized games use special code for that anyways, so don't rely on DOS at all (as they have custom fonts etc.)

although i havent run into any yet You surely have. Current drives are full of defective sectors, the drive's logic tries to sense this and moves bad sectors out of the way (most of the time it works fine that way).

Thought the same, usually it's not a defect in an area that's required (dummy file, audio where the latter is no defect due to the ec layers).

Just open it with wordpad save it then open it with notepad bing instant MS text format Yeah but that's not the point here for the 2nd time.

Start dosbox with a clean dosbox.conf, then type "keyb gr" and mount your drives/cdrom stuff. Don't know if it would work for the game though.

At the very first, use "c:" to change to the c drive. Then type "dir" to see the contents (which are what is in c:\dosbox).
