Um you said you created the .ima files from your floppies. Skip that step, just copy the content of all floppies into one directory, then install.

Don't think it provides xms, just some fix for the xp himem. The ems thing uses block copying like the emm286 somebody posted here some time ago. Should work around problems where xp's ems provider is not/can not be activated.

It's running in real mode, thus dosbox doesn't switch to the dynamic core/max cycles automatically.

I'm not sure why dosbox would tell that it was correctly mounted, at least for ISOs there should be some checks if the image is valid. Anyways try something like alcohol, check that you can access the content of the cdrom through the explorer, then use something like mount d k:\ -t cdrom if k: is …

DOSBox has been it development for, what, 8 years now? Yeah and Harekiet did in a few years what microsoft's thousands of programmers didn't/couldn't within 13 years ('95-2008).

No, it doesn't run automatically. Use standard dos commands like "c:" to change the drive, "cd something" to change to some directory etc. Other than that buy the game.
