Well only qcdrom is continued, but has been abandoned after a while either. Don't know about its current state, or if somebody else is developing xcdrom. Either way qcdrom is the thing to try, but don't expect too much.

The new algorithm regarding composite modes was added by Qbix (he was in contact with NewRisingSun about that). …

I call this a bug by violation of the Law of Least Astonishment. As minimax said, the Law of Least Astonishment is not valid if the user screws up the path variable of course. Your fault.

If you can tell me the problem is not A/a M/m related It IS case sensitive, so if you feed Max to dosbox it uses the default (which is 3000 fixed cycles).

Be sure you installed both games within dosbox, so the directories relative to the mounting are what the game/save game transfer thing expects them to be. Anybody else know if that process of save game conversion is actually possible?

Um you got the wrong one then. The right one should be succeeded by a ret (0xc3). Maybe patch out all those 0x0f 0x77 0xc3 ones into 0x90 0x90 0xc3

All files are in the c:\wings dir including the tre Then you did it wrong obviously. Create a c:\oldstuff, mount that as c in dosbox,and install the game WITHIN dosbox in c:\wings so you'll end up with a c:\oldstuff\wings directory on your real disk.

Fullscreen or what? Usually even when dosbox crashes the SDL code to restore the original video mode is executed.

Well they could have saved/restored the values, too, but guess they assumed strict default-textmode thus used those fixed values. S3 does the same btw.
