but until the whole team can verify that they weren't contacted by anyone for this purpose Confirmed by the whole team. Until there's any response from valve about their license violation, there's no point in discussing further actions.

That status window. Do you have a joystick? Plug it in (no tablet stuff attached) and it should give a message in that window when dosbox starts. If the tablet does the same, it's recognized as joystick as well. If it isn't, it could be queried through the mouse interface most likely.

Um well if SDL sees it as joystick device it's no wonder that it behaves like that. That's why i'm asking if it is displayed as such in the console window.

Seems to work fine for me, maybe reinstall it (not just use setup.exe, but fully install it within dosbox).

Well for joystick-type devices there should be something in the console window like "using joystick xyz...". Which exact dosbox version are you using, and on what OS?

Be sure you're using a clean dosbox.conf (or rename the existing one, dosbox will use defaults then) and type the mount commands. Try using something like "mount c c:\oldstuff", some games are picky about the location.

The main part of the violation is that they removed all references to dosbox including any statement that they use it and the GLP files. The other part is in what form they have to provide the source code. For direct redistribution of a dosbox release i suppose it'd be enough to point to the dosbox …

The dmg of 0.71 I download contains no source The dmg is not THE distribution but only part of it.

The GPL files are missing. That's the whole point. They HAVE to be present in every binary distribution.
