Re: Tandy 1000 HX Emulation

in PC Emulation
One message mentioned that there may have been fonts in the Tandy ROM. That was me ;) Tandy roms seem to have font tables in their very high area, at a different location than the pcjr (dosbox has neither, but uses the graphics rom). You can't really use a debug script or something, but would need …

Re: Tandy 1000 HX Emulation

I'll try to have a look at the bios docs and listings, maybe it doesn't make sense what i'm talking about 😉 There was some thread about deskmate somewhere on the forums, maybe i'll dig that up, could contain useful information as well.

Re: Tandy 1000 HX Emulation

For these reasons, it may not be the Tandy BIOS Well i suppose the tandy bios had some character table at a fixed location or something, and the prog reads this one (crap in dosbox). Regular int10 should work, uses the "correct" tables. But as i said i didn't delve too deep into it as far as i …

Re: Dosbox crashes on start

in DOSBox General
Again, the CVS does NOT solve the inherent problem (which can be bad gfx drivers, suboptimal directx settings etc.). It's a bit troublesome that it has worked for you and now crashes, did you install something inbetween or update drivers or similar?

Re: Tandy 1000 HX Emulation

Think it's not possible to get it to work, iirc it relies on the tandy bios or something. But i never looked too deep into it (quite tricky stuff) so i might be wrong.

Re: Saved Games lost

in DOSBox General
Already there: Mounting your entire C drive with MOUNT C C:\ is NOT recommended! I'll have a look at that example you mentioned by times, thanks for pointing it out.

Re: Saved Games lost

in DOSBox General
Right, in general it's best to have some directory on your hard disk mounted as c (like "mount c c:\oldgames") and install the games there. This way they can create the save games etc. If you think some part of the readme was unclear/could lead to misunderstandings feel free to tell or rephrase that …

Re: mapper or keyb problem?

in DOSBox General
Sorry, no idea, maybe somebody else can give you some helpful advice. Maybe try some older dosbox versions, and try posting a screenshot after you pressed the up/down/left/right keys on the dosbox prompt.

Re: Misc. timing patches

in DOSBox Patches
Thank you very much! And no, there's nothing like a golden medal of diff for the 100th patch 😉 (not yet). The first two things sound sensible, the 3rd one effectively prolongs the retrace interval, right?

Re: mapper or keyb problem?

in DOSBox General
Hm don't know, sounds odd. Try the following: delete the mapper.txt, start dosbox+the mapper. Then klick on the "K" and delete all bindings for it (the "DEL" button, watch the binding, it should be removed). Then be sure that hitting the "K" key on your keyboard doesn't produce anything (as the …
