So are you running the game under dosbox or not? In the second case see the guides and tutorials on the forum.

I tried running the game through D-Fend Try it without, that is plain dosbox 0.70 installation and install the game within dosbox (important). Is the wintest.exe file present then somewhere in the directory where you installed it to?

there is massive slowdown if i use full screen mode after applying the trainer for infinite lives ONLY if running with the trainer in the background? Try different output= settings in dosbox.conf and maybe the sdl.dll from the 0.70 release.

Well it crashes, seems to try to decrypt its code. Maybe try some of the prefetch-queue enabled builds, though i didn't look if this is the cause.

VDMSound's cpu emulation Which is nonpresent, jfi. Try something like "cycles=max 95%" in dosbox.conf and play with the percentage value a bit.

Does it behave the same under the 0.70 release? Usually you run trainers before the game, that is either they act as a tsr or they load the main executable themselves. But suppose you know that.

Undo the changes in the dosbox.conf, that is stick with the irq=7 and dma=1. Then configure stonekeep with sb16 (or soundblaster) at the same settings (addr=220, irq=7, dma=1) and for music choose general midi (addr=330) or adlib or sb with the same settings as above.
