Shift-6 gives a nice ^ for me, and the cursor right works as well.

Mine doesn't allow this, happy you 😉 But if you look at the available EMS memory in msd, you know why the maximum should be 16mb (like the default in dosbox).

Well in the file properties of dos executables you can specify 16mb ems/xms/dpmi memory as maximum.

Does this happen with all games? What version of dosbox are you using? And does the keyboard still respond (game-wise) when this happens?

He boots msdos inside dosbox using disk images, and of course there the ems provided by dosbox is not available, so you have to load emm386 in order to get ems memory.

Tests with emm386 are useless because it runs in v86 mode and is only an ems emulator, that's why i asked whether somebody knows if it ran with ems boards.

Or ty to disk-copy the floppy with some low-level program like hd-copy or vgacopy (both should be available as shareware versions and run from a msdos bootdisk).

Don't know much about intelligent mode, could be there was something changed, but it might as well be some timer problem. Don't have the game, so i can't tell.

The program accesses files with (very) non-standard names, this was possible in dos through direct manipulation but is not supported in dosbox (host-os wise). Otherwise it seems to be usable. The analysis is still around somewhere, the bug i'm talking of is in the UMB handling of keyb. As dosbox0.63 doesn't have UMBs, this will not be noticed. Yet pr3 worked fine for me, but of course it could be that something is broken in dosbox. Or maybe i'm confusing the version numbering of keyb …
