I have been using MS-DOS 7.1 for a very long time and not run into a single game that gave me issues. It uses a little bit more memory but I had no issues getting games like Ultima 7 going. For beginners setting up a hybrid W98SE / MS-DOS 7.1 machine could be tricky though as you need to know how …

I get max 58 for the demo, no matter the machine and card. I might not use Forsaken for the Voodoo 2. EDIT: Fixed the issue. I didn't have the correct device selected when you launch the game 😊

Noticed that forsaken seems to be locked to 60 fps, even if you disable V-sync in the driver. Anyone know a way around this?

Weird I did have the reference drivers loaded. Installed the Monster drivers and it's working now. 😕 PS: And yes, I needed that AMD K6-2 patch for anything faster than K6-2/300. Continuing the benchmark saga...

Tried a K6-2+ and K6-III+. The speed bug affects only the older W95 versions and manifests itself in a totally different error. If I put back an Intel CPU all is well. It crashed when probing or initialising the card. For example in Turok demo just before you can press the button to start the game. …

Tried a K6-2 and as soon every game just displays a green image. Sometimes it's blue. Basically a solid colour and the machine hangs. Any ideas AMD fans, otherwise I will just leave testing AMD CPUs. Do I need an AMD CPU driver for Windows?

A 19" Samsung which I got from work. Don't be so fixated on what exact model. Get what's cheap, build a machine and see how you go. You will often find that the theory doesn't live up to reality and once you have a machine in front of you requirements will become more obvious. No point spending big …

What games do you want to play? I'm have zero experience with that Voodoo card and there could be some (glide) games that will not work on it.

I just recently got a Leadtek 5950 for around A$ 10 :) But I must say this card is total overkill for a Windows 98 machine. XP was out by then and popular games from that era like Call of Duty, Splinter Cell or Medal of Honour that run well on such a card all run under XP. I usually orient myself …

Yea it boots of the CD 😀 I also use W95 without any patches. All the games I tried work fine.
