Vague for you maybe. I've done my testing and moved on, sorry. The "sluggishness" I refer to also can't be accurately measured. W98 just bogs everything down.

Using it is very sluggish. Installing games takes longer. It can't quite handle it. W95 is much snappier.

If you have a Nvidia card, create a custom resolution of 1280 x 960 and set GPU scaling to "do not scale". Then play around with DOSBox to make it work.

Solution: Buy a 1600x1200 or 19200 x 1200 monitor. It's the only way to get square pixels for 320 x 200 games. That game however seems to have a higher resolution. If it's 640 x 480 then 1280 x 960 would be integer scaled, but such a monitor doesn't exist. Opengl is softer which masks the pixel …

I do remember the 7770 being a very basic value card. It wasn't very fast when it came out. Didn't even think about higher resolutions and triple screens. For me I will likely go with 17" or 19" 1280 x 1024 LCDs. Such monitors are easy to source and all the games support that resolution natively. …

32GB will be enough for the BIOS to fully recognise the HDD. Then just create a 2GB partition.

All my DOS games are from GOG.com. I do have a few discs, especially early Windows games like Incoming, Forsaken, Grand prix or G-Police. But just the discs. I simply don't have the space to keep boxed versions.

Does the BIOS even support a drive that large? I have used PCI SATA controllers and using SUPER FDISK create a 30GB partition and that works. The other option are CF cards. They work well and are easily available in 2GB sizes.
