On my main desktop (i7, 8GB, SSD, GTX660) I have a Sound Blaster Z, Shure SHR1440 into the headphone port and Logitech z623 on the desk. The software has a switch to select between speakers and headphones. Virtual surround works really well and gives me an edge in games such as BF4 😀
